Vision / Future Plan

Forest Development corporation FDC is gradually embarking upon commercial plantation work through its own staff and resources. The returns from these plantations will be re-invested in the area for running the system in a sustained manner with the objective as follows:

To invest FDC funds in raising commercial plantations to ensure sound financial return more valuable than the investments in the Banks.
To adopt well executed strategy of development by increasing forest cover in the Province.
To meet the demand of fuel wood and timber in the country.
To demonstrate economic feasibility of commercial plantations and promote investment in raising such plantations by the private sector and other public sector organizations.
Employment to local young men and increasing their skills.
Involvement of local people for environment protection.
Less damages to the remaining stand, regeneration and forest soil because of directional felling.
Timber fetches higher prices in timber market.
